EPA Tweets Link to Download Kim Kardashian's App

Kim Kardashian: Hollywood

It appears that even the federal government keeps up with the Kardashians.

The Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Water caused quite a stir on Monday by accidentally Tweeting a link to Kim Kardashian's new online game.

"I'm now a C-List celebrity in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood ," the now deleted Tweet read. "Come join me and become famous too by playing on iPhone!"

The app, released June 25, is already on track to rake in $200 million. Playing is free, but users can pay to climb the ranks of Los Angeles society – though we have a feeling "purchasing K stars" isn't exactly a line in the EPA's budget.

At least Glu Games, the creator of the app, is supporting the EPA's dream of making it big, Tweeting, "Keep at it @EPAwater, you'll get there. #AList #WillowPapeIsTheWorst #KimKardashianGame"

And the water office isn't ashamed about wanting Mrs. Kanye West's luxurious life.

"Whoops…our bad. Sorry about tweet. Upside – more attention for the Office of Water (water.epa.gov), thanks @KimKardashian," the account Tweeted on Tuesday.

Still, a spokeswoman who doesn't sound like a Keeping Up with the Kardashians fan, took a more serious tone while explaining the gaffe.

"An EPA fellow inadvertently triggered an auto-generated tweet. She regrets the errors and has been advised on the sensitivities of using social media," she said in a statement to USA Today .

Considering that Kardashian has broken Instagram records and basically invented the butt selfie, she could probably teach the ill-fated employee a thing or two about Twitter. From Calabasas to the Hamptons, it's Kim's world: We're just living in the virtual version of it.
