Stephen Collins accused of admitting to molesting minors in therapy - Justice News Flash
10/09/2014 // West Palm Beach, Florida, US // JusticeNewsFlash // Justice News Flash // (press release)
Los Angeles – “7th Heaven” star Stephen Collins is being accused of having admitted to molesting three underage girls during a secretly recorded therapy session in 2012. As reported by People, TMZ recently posted an audio recording alleged to have been Collin’s taped confession, that the actor’s ex-wife, Faye Grant, previously turned over to authorities.
Grant claims she played no part in the recent release of the audio to the media stating, “I woke up today to learn that an extremely private recording I handed over to the authorities in 2012 per their request in connection with a criminal investigation was recently disseminated to the press…I had no involvement whatsoever with the release of the tape to the media.”
Grant and Collins divorced in 2012 after 27 years of marriage. The two share one daughter together, 25-year-old Kate Collins.

NYFF review: Actors, camera soar in surreal "Birdman" - CBS News
Michael Keaton stars as an action-movie star trying for a comeback on Broadway in "Birdman," a comedy lifted by great performances and sublime cinematography. Fox Searchlight
You are in a dirty, cramped dressing room of a Broadway theater, tinged with generations of acting history, successes and regrets. It's here where the voices of actors past might speak to you, with encouragement more elegant than "Break a leg."

But Riggan Thomson can't hear those voices, thanks to the inner voice of his super-ego speaking so loudly no ego could drown it out.
Riggan (Michael Keaton) is days from Opening Night of his Broadway play, an adaptation of a Raymond Carver story which he has also written and directed. His life's blood is in the production. It's a life that has seen its share of success (three top-grossing "Birdman" superhero movies) and failures (divorce and a daughter straight out of rehab).
And alas, the signs aren't boding well when an actor is injured during rehearsals, requiring a last-minute replacement: Mike Shiner (Edward Norton), whose passionate quest for realism on stage includes drinking actual gin and attempting to make love for real with his co-star and partner, Lesley (Naomi Watts).

Riggan also faces countless other pressures, including a pregnant girlfriend, Laura (Andrea Riseborough); a worried producer, Jake (Zach Galifianakis); and a theatre critic (Lindsay Duncan)who promises to bury his production with her review.
A treat of black comedy mixed with magical realism and powerful emotions, "Birdman, or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)" had its U.S. premiere Saturday at the New York Film Festival.
Masterfully directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu ("Babel," "Amores Perros"), the film unspools for the most part in the manner of a single unbroken take, conjured from the last few days before Opening Night. Taking place mostly within the confines of the theater's backstage, where actors, costumers, stagehands and reporters jostle, argue, fight or make out, the story is mostly told through Riggan's POV, though the camera often drifts away to eavesdrop on others' conversations.

Fox Searchlight
The stunning camerawork is by cinematographer Emmanuel "Chivo" Lubezki (whose work has graced the movies of Alfonso Cuarón and Terrence Malick, and who won an Oscar last year for "Gravity"). Shot without artificial lights (there was no room for them in the exceedingly cramped quarters of the St. James Theater), in long extended takes that are cleverly edited together, the camerawork creates a fluid sensation of being airborne through the entire film, sometimes getting thisclose to the actors.
It's a process that required extensive rehearsals and technical run-throughs -- and which generated an atmosphere for the actors that was (according to Keaton) the most intense he'd ever experienced.
The seamless technical work makes the script's intense emotional points all the more powerful, as Riggan faces a growing fear that he, his precious play (titled "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love"), even his life are no longer relevant to an audience, or to his family.
His daughter, Sam (Emma Stone), is extremely blunt in her assessment of his motivations and self-image:
"You are doing a play based on a book that was written 60 years ago, for a thousand rich, old white people whose only real concern is going to be where they can go have their cake and coffee when it's over. Nobody gives a **** but you. And let's face it, Dad, you are not doing this for the sake of art. You are doing this because you want to feel relevant again. Well, guess what? There is an entire world out there where people fight to be relevant every single day, and you act like it doesn't exist. Things are happening in a place that you ignore -- a place that, by the way, has already forgotten about you! I mean, who the **** are you? You hate bloggers, you mock Twitter, you don't even have a Facebook page! You're the one who doesn't exist!"
It's a movie that, like Muhammad Ali, floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.
Released by Fox Searchlight, "Birdman" opens on October 17. It is Rated R for language, some sexual content and brief violence. Running time: 1:59.

Bill Hader Triumphantly Returns To Host 'Saturday Night Live' With Musical ... - Starpulse.com
Recent alumni returning to host "Saturday Night Live" have lately served as an excuse to fill the episode with cameos from former cast members and friends of the show, with last season's finale hosted by Andy Samberg a particularly egregious example. That tendency is not a good fit for a show with a large repertory cast including several rookies and sophomores fighting to make themselves known. Luckily, this episode only featured two cameos, only one of whom was a former cast member, and neither of whom overwhelmed the show. Hader did resurrect a few of his most memorable characters, but he didn't get in the way of what the current cast is doing. The bottom line is, it is pretty much impossible to have a bad episode hosted by Bill Hader. He was in a lot of sketches while a cast member, because he could take on the lead and the utility roles just as easily. Thus, putting him in the entire episode, as is the norm with the hosts, served to guarantee at least one good performance per sketch. Let's take a closer look at each segment of the show:
Kim Jong-Un - The running time of this sketch was about 3 minutes, a speed that is practically unheard of for "SNL" cold openings in 2014. It harked back to a time when the first sketch could get in there with a familiar routine, make it point, and get right to the "Live from New York!" But the weird thing about this sketch was that Bobby Moynihan's Kim Jong-Un impression is not particularly popular, nor has North Korea really been dominating headlines. This sketch did not really focus on being timely anyway, instead making bizarre observational points about the Korean leader, such as how he fancies himself the world's greatest athlete and that his haircut resembles Brad Pitt in his current movie. Ultimately, this was admirable for being stranger than most openings, but disappointing for being too slight to do something with that strangeness. B-
Bill Hader's Monologue - It has gotten to the point at which a musical "SNL" monologue must be about making fun of the fact that it is a musical monologue. That does not, however, excuse the tiredness of this premise. The surprising, but appropriate, appearance of Harvey Fierstein did excuse it somewhat, though. Although, perhaps this could have been more successful with an even more left-field choice. Bill kind of sounded like Keith Morrison while recounting his childhood. As with Fierstein, he has an impression of the "Dateline" reporter in his repertoire. B
Danny DeVito To Lip Sync One Direction's 'Steal My Girl'? - 2paragraphs.com
Actor Danny DeVito (Get Shorty, Taxi, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest) will have a role in One Direction’s new music video Steal My Girl. No one knows why exactly, but the boy band did show appreciation of DeVito on set by posing with the 69-year-old’s “trollfoot.” DeVito has been photographing his bare foot in various places and positions and posting them on social media sites as a kind of amateur art project. (Is it a boot-y call?)
The song Steal My Girl is the lead single of 1D’s upcoming album, Four, which will be released on November 17. Here’s the chorus: “Everybody wanna steal my girl / Everybody wanna take her heart away / Couple billion in the whole wide world / Find another one ’cause she belongs to me .” The chorus is followed by a number of na na na nas. Maybe that’s where DeVito will come in. Maybe he’ll lip sync those na nas like his contemporary Chevy Chase did in Paul Simon’s You Can Call Me Al.

You have to be pretty bold to take on Olivia Benson. No, not that Olivia Benson — Taylor Swift’s cat, who happens to be named after the Law & Order: SVU character.
The singer showed off her feline friend (one of two she owns) on The Graham Norton Show, where guest John Cleese made his feelings on the animal’s appearance known to all. “How did it have the accident?” Cleese asked a more-surprised-than-usual Swift. “Is that a proper cat? UPDATE 1-'Gone Girl' retains hold at top of US and Canada box office - Reuters

(Adds details on new movies, other background)
By Lisa Richwine and Chris Michaud
LOS ANGELES/NEW YORK Oct 12 (Reuters) - Ben Affleck's movie thriller "Gone Girl" dominated U.S. and Canadian movie charts for a second consecutive weekend, collecting $26.8 million in ticket sales to beat back challenges from four new films that fought for moviegoer dollars.
New action movie "Dracula Untold" finished second with $23.5 million while Walt Disney Co family comedy "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" was third, earning $19.1 million from Friday through Sunday, according to estimates from tracking firm Rentrak.
Horror flick "Annabelle," last weekend's runner-up, landed in the No. 4 slot with $16.4 million.
Courtroom drama "The Judge," from Time Warner Inc's Warner Bros, debuted in fifth place for the weekend, pulling in $13.3 million at North American (U.S. and Canadian) theaters. The movie stars Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall in the story of a father and son trying to reconnect.
"Gone Girl" stars Affleck as a writer who becomes the prime suspect when his wife, played by Rosamund Pike, goes missing. The movie is based on a best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn.
The R-rated film generated buzz after last weekend's strong $37.5 million debut and praise from critics. The movie's total sales climbed to $78.3 million through Sunday, distributor 20th Century Fox said.
In "Dracula Untold," Luke Evans plays the man who eventually transforms into the famous creature of the night.
"Dracula," which the studio said performed even stronger than had been expected, opened overseas a week ago and has earned $86.1 million around the globe, according to distributor Universal Pictures, a unit of Comcast Corp.
"Alexander," a film adaptation of a classic children's book, tells the story of a perpetually unlucky preteen boy, portrayed on screen by Australian newcomer Ed Oxenbould. Jennifer Garner and Steve Carrell play his parents. The movie cost $28 million to make, according to the Box Office Mojo website.
A scary porcelain doll is the lead character in "Annabelle," which is a spin-off from 2013 horror hit "The Conjuring." The movie from Warner Bros has grossed $62.2 million since it hit theaters on Oct. 3.
"That plethora of choice is what's fueling major expansion at the box office right now," said Rentrak's Mike Marcell, referring to the varying genres covered by this week's crop of new films.
Thriller "Addicted" debuted in seventh place, ringing up $7.6 million from a more limited showing in just 846 theaters. The movie aimed at African-American audiences tells the story of a businesswoman who has an affair with a painter. It was distributed by Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. One Direction make sure nobody will steal their girls with Sumo bodyguards - Mirror.co.uk
Pictures released from new One Direction video show Zayn Malik flanked by enormous Japanese grapplers as Danny Devito directs
One Direction have had their share of gorgeous girlfriends, and now the fab five have released a song entitled, Steal My Girl.
Although no man could ever be able to steal a girl away from the mop-topped cuties, the lads are taking no chances and it looks like they have hired a pair of Sumo wrestlers in their new video just in case.
The new single is the lead track off One Direction's forthcoming fourth studio album, Four, and is about someone wrestling a girl's affections away from her boyfriend.
Zayn Malik is seen stood in-between the huge sumo wrestlers looking pretty dishy in a number of snaps taken behind the scenes.
The new song includes these lines: "She's been my queen/Since we were sixteen/We want the same things/We dream the same dreams.
"Everybody wanna steal my girl /Everybody wanna take her heart away/Couple billion in the whole wide world/Find another one 'cause she belongs to me."
On September 28, one day prior to the official release, the song was leaked on the internet, leading to the hashtag #stealmygirlsperfect becoming the top trend on Twitter.
Niall Horan announced on Twitter that Danny DeVito was starring in the video as he tweeted: "Can't believe that Hollywood Royalty @DannyDevito is in the Steal My Girl video. What a legend!"
The tiny Twins star, 69, who takes photos of his feet and posts them on Twitter, labelling them “troll foot”, stars alongside a live monkey in the new promo. Pretty strange stuff.
DeVito, who has also starred in Throw Momma From the Train and Drowning Mona, plays the part of the boys' director in the shoot, which parodies the making of a music video.
Our sources say: "Most of the footage was shot on location in the desert but there are lots of strange props and random things thrown into the mix, like a big sofa in the shape of a pair of lips.
"There are also monkeys, which the boys loved."
We love a One Direction video and we really can't wait for this one!

'Gone Girl' Stakes 'Dracula Untold' at Box Office - Wall Street Journal
Oct. 12, 2014 2:46 p.m. ET
Despite competition from four new movies in nationwide release, “Gone Girl” stayed put at the top of the box office chart.
The adaptation of the best-selling novel was No. 1 for the second weekend in a row, grossing an estimated $26.8 million. That is down only 29% from last weekend, an unusually small drop that indicates very strong word-of-mouth. Already, the thriller starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike has grossed $78.3 million in the U.S. and Canada.
The $65 million production is now on track to gross close to $150 million domestically and has already collected $63 million from 52 foreign markets, meaning it should be quite profitable for distributor Twentieth Century Fox and its financing partner New Regency Productions.

Misty Upham reportedly had financial worries prior to her mystery disappearance last week.
The 'August: Osage County' actress, 32, who was last seen leaving her sister's home in Washington on October 5, was allegedly struggling with money and couldn't even pay her rent just months before she vanished following an earlier suicidal call to the police.
A source told PEOPLE.com: ''She was doing everything she could to make it, but there were times she couldn't even make her own rent.
''I always worried about her. She's an amazing person. I think she just had trouble trying to keep up with Hollywood. She's always gone against the grain.''
Misty's father Charles said yesterday (11.10.14) his daughter suffers from a medical condition and a recent change in her medication had changed her behaviour, but he's certain she wouldn't take her own life.
He explained: ''She had recently changed her medication, so she was sort of having erratic behaviour. She told me and her mum that we didn't have to worry about her anymore ... I thought it sounded suicidal myself, so I called the police. She's always been a suicidal person.
''She used to make [suicide] threats sometimes, but she never went through with it. I think that she is either in a place where she can't get help - maybe she fell down and broke her leg and something, or she got in with the wrong crowd. I don't think she would have taken her own life. I don't want to think she is dead.''

Misty Upham - Misty Upham had financial worries? - Contactmusic.com
Misty Upham reportedly had financial worries in the months leading up to her disappearance last week.

Watch John Cleese Insult Taylor Swift's Cat to Her Face - TIME
You have to be pretty bold to take on Olivia Benson.
Is it damaged irrevocably? It’s the weirdest cat I’ve ever seen in my life.”
No cat fight here, though. Taking her own advice, Swift shook off her hater and kept quiet while the Monty Python alum and comedy legend went on to show off his own giant cat.

Marvel Shares First Look At Netflix's 'Daredevil' - Huffington Post
Here is your first look at Charlie Cox in Marvel's "Daredevil." In the daytime look, we see the funky glasses Matt Murdock (Cox) wears as a result of being blinded as a boy. At night, we have the face-covering scarf, because, well, if you're blind, why not just cover your eyes altogether, right? According to Marvel, that costume is inspired by an original "Daredevil" sketch. It's all very barre ninja. As a refresher, the series will follow Murdock, who works as a funky-glasses-wearing lawyer by day and superhero with extraordinary senses in modern-day Hell's Kitchen by night.

New York Comic Con 2014: 'Daredevil' makes his debut as Marvel gives first ... - New York Daily News

Fans of "Daredevil" got an eye opening first look at blind superhero's upcoming Netflix series.
Marvel wowed the New York Comic Con crowd Saturday night, unveiled four clips from its top-secret 13-episode drama -- with black-suited security guards in night-vision goggles patrolling the aisles of the Jacob K. Javits Center auditorium to foil any would be leakers in the crowd.
What the 2,500 in the room witnessed included a five-minute fight sequence, in which a fledgling Daredevil ("Boardwalk Empire's" Charlie Cox) with a costume "that's still a work in progress," dispatches an assassin out to kill Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).
It's definitely more intense than Marvel's first foray into live action television, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
"I always approach it as there are no heroes and there are no villains, just people making different choices," said showrunner Stephen S. DeKnight ("Angel, "Sparacus: War of the Damned) of the gritty tone of the 13-episode series.
Another clip showed Vincent D'Onofrio, whose shaved head and 6-foot-5 bulk make him look like his Wilson Fisk was torn out of the pages of a "Daredevil" Comic.
"Our Fisk is he's a child and he's a monster," says Every move that he makes and everything tht he does in our story comes from his foundation of morality inside himself."
Rosario Dawson's role was also finally revealed - the "Sin City" actress will be playing the Night Nurse, a character from the comics.
"Daredevil" is one of four live-action series coming to Netflix that feature some of Marvel's most popular superheroes. The series will be followed by "Jessica Jones," "Iron Fist" and "Luke Cage," who will all come together as a team in a "Defenders" miniseries.
"The Defenders" borrows a page from Marvel's successful movie strategy, which kicked off with stand-alone "Iron Man," "Captain America" and "Thor" movies, and then combined them in 2012 blockbuster "The Avengers."
