Brad Pitt was at the end of a line of signing autographs during his fiancée Angelina Jolie's "Maleficent" movie premiere when he was attacked by Ukrainian journalist Vitalii Sediuk.

"Out the corner of my eye I saw someone stage-diving over the barrier at me," Pitt, 50, told People magazine.

"I took a step back; this guy had latched onto my lapels. I looked down and the nutter was trying to bury his face in my crotch, so I cracked him twice in the back of the head - not too hard - but enough to get his attention, because he did let go."

The "Moneyball" star's security team quickly descended on Sediuk, who has famously ticked off many of Hollywood's A-list - including Will Smith, Bradley Cooper and Leonardo DiCaprio.

"I think he was then just grabbing for a hand hold because the guys were on him, and he reached up and caught my glasses," Pitt told People.

"I don't mind an exhibitionist, but if this guy keeps it up he's going to spoil it for the fans who have waited up all night for an autograph or a selfie, because it will make people more wary to approach a crowd. And he should know, if he tries to look up a woman's dress again, he's going to get stomped."

Last month Sediuk was nabbed at the Cannes Film Festival, after attempting to get under actress America Ferrera's red carpet gown.

"People like that are an exception to the rule," Jolie, 38, told the Associated Press about the red carpet nuisance.

"Most fans are just wonderful. We've had a wonderful experience over the years, and we're very grateful for their support, and it will not change the way we behave."

The "Maleficent" actress also praised the way her husband handled the situation, saying Pitt is a "strong" man who reacted "perfectly," according to the AP.

Sediuk pleaded no contest to battery on Friday, and was ordered to stay away from the Jolie-Pitt brood and future red carpet events.
