Marvel Chooses Adam McKay to Direct "Ant-Man"Submit Comment

It was just reported that Marvel has been in talks with Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers), Rawson Thurber (Dodgeball, We're the Millers) and Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad) to replace Edgar Wright at the director of the upcoming "Ant-Man" film.

Now comes word that despite also being an incredibly busy producer, McKay has officially been offered the job. The helmer is currently in negotiations, so it seems that he's at least interested in accepting.

"Ant-Man" stars Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Corey Stoll and Patrick Wilson. It's set to hit theaters on July 17th, 2015.

So, Ant-Man is gonna be a comedy. Hmm...didn't see that coming.

McKay has the comedic sensibility to direct ANT-MAN, but I don't know about how well he can choreograph and manage action sequences. If Gunn can do GUARDIANS, though, then I'm sure McKay will be just fine directing BUG f*ckER.

@Boogiel. I knew Ant-Man would have a lot of comedy in it because of Wright's involvement. It's not a stretch that their getting someone like McKay to replace him.
