Cee Lo Green Reality TV Show The Good Life Cancelled After Rape Rant - Entertainmentwise

Forget You hitmaker Cee Lo Green apologised last night (September 2) for "idiotic" and "untrue" tweets about rape, but that doesn't appear to have saved him from the fallout of his comments as his reality TV show has been cancelled.

Following the controversy, TV network TBS have reportedly announced that they are not bringing back Cee Lo's reality series The Good Life for another season, although The Hollywood Reporter claims it's because of poor viewing figures.

The singer - who briefly deactivated his Twitter account after his comments sparked a backlash from users - posted a bizarre set of tweets about rape on Sunday, just days after pleading no contest to charges which saw him accused of slipping a woman ecstasy without her consent back in 2012.

Prosecutors rejected a rape charge against Green - real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway - when he was charged with the drug offense in October last year, with the woman claiming that she had no memory of what happened between eating with the 40-year-old at a sushi restaurant and waking up naked in his bed.

The rape claim was dismissed however and the former The Voice US mentor was sentenced to three years of formal probation and 45 days of community service.

But it seemed as though Cee Lo had something he wanted to say on Twitter on Sunday, as he allegedly wrote: "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"

He then added: "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent." Huh?

The Gnarls Barkley singer then reportedly went on to tweet: "let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context."

"I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this is begin with. I'd never condone the harm of any women. Thank you," before proceeding to delete his account entirely.
