Michael Strahan announced how a "joke" turned into a movie role.

"I'm getting ready to do something that's making me nervous," he said on "Live! With Kelly & Michael" Monday. "I'm about to do something that started as a joke on the show."

The 42-year-old daytime talk show host was referring to his previous strip tease on the show when Channing Tatum was promoting "Magic Mike."

His sly moves paired with agreeing to be in part two after Tatum asked, have now landed him a part in the sequel, "Magic Mike XXL."

"He wrote me into the next 'Magic Mike' movie," Strahan said about Tatum.

"It's kind of a thong thing," Strahan described of his on-set attire in the film that hits theaters July 1, 2015.

"Is it in 3-D?" Rippa asked excitedly.

The male revue flick also stars Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer and Gabriel Iglesias. Breaking up the man-gang is Jada Pinkett Smith, who recently announced she'd be joining the cast, taking on a role that was originally slated for a guy.
